Life and emotions are each as unpredictable as the weather these days. With the state the world is in now, it is understandable as to why there are so many cases of anxiety and depression. Compassion, the human spirit, and communication all seem to be fading away and being replaced by internet outlets that create mass narcissism and heartless dialogue. At least that is what it feels like to me more than often.
I would like you to ask, and answer these questions to yourself:
1.) Who controls everything you do on a daily basis?
2.) Who is responsible for making sure you survive on this planet?
3.) Who hears the thoughts that your mind constructs?
4.) Who do you have to lay down with at the end of the day?
Now from the blog title you should know the answers to those questions already. But for those of you who do not get it, I will digress for you.
There are many influential aspects that can contribute to our psyche and everyday life. But what it all comes down to, is the person reading this blog post, YOU.
You can blame someone for his or her actions. But do you blame yourself for your own? Do you ever think about the situations that you are going through and how you got yourself in one to begin with? Do you take time to think about you on a conscience level and not by a internet reward system.
If you cannot sit down and hold yourself accountable for the situations in which you put yourself, then my friend, it is time to do some soul searching. Being brought up in a 1st world country allows us to make our own choices every day we wake up, no matter what walks of life you come from.
People can influence you. However, no one controls you, but you. You can not control life, but you can control how you react to it. It is a battle of you versus you, until you die. Who is going to win?
What are the real keys to success?
The definition of success as defined by Mariam-Webster is the " favorable or desired outcome; also : the attainment of wealth, favor, or eminence ".
In America it is easy to get caught up in the need for obtaining stereotypical success, as we see those in our popular culture have done. The money, the material possessions, and the eminence: these are all catalyst to the death of the true meaning of what success really is.
What is the true meaning of success? That answer lies within you, the one who is reading this text. Success is like an opinion, everyone can formulate their own meaning of the word. One human beings meaning of success may be getting their family out of a life threatening environment. Another persons could be becoming the worlds most famous musician. The keys to success formulate around the time, effort, and gusto the person puts in to reach their point of being successful. It is not something you can open a book and find the answers to: or better yet google search. It is a internal flame that burns within a human being, letting them know that success is the only option to get them-self, or their family out of the situation they once came from.
Success can not be taught, it can be influenced, but no one can teach you how to do you. You are the only one in control of your life, no matter if you feel like you are or not. You make that big muscle behind your rib-cage thump, you control where your two feet go. The only way to be successful in this world is to be comfortable being yourself, while putting in the time, effort, and being persistent enough to bring whatever will make you successful to the surface.
In this game of life it is not just you versus the troubles of the world around us, it is you versus you, and that is the biggest battle you will face during your entire life.
Be you, and you will be successful.
Seriously, ask yourself that question. The time we spend complaining is time took away from accomplishing what we may be complaining about. The tree above is dead, you are not. Stop all of that whining and moaning about what you can not do, and make it happen. Nothing worth it comes easy, remember that. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. Take advantage of every breathe you take, you will never know when it will be your last.
Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a repeated cycle, on a day-to-day basis? Well get the hell out of it right now before it is too late.
Do you realize that your life is the only one you have? The end can be closer than you expect. So what is the point of doing the same exact routine, every single day of your life? I understand we all have responsibilities to take care of such as making enough money to live, but what if we get so caught up in such responsibilities that we miss a world full of opportunity that lies in front of us?
I know I am asking a lot of questions for a Monday morning, but I would like you all to really sit down and ask yourself, are you making the most out of every 24 hours you are blessed to see? If you feel like you are doing the same stuff every single day, and when the weekend comes all you want to do is rest so you can continue the same routine the following work week, then get yourself out of that cycle before you drive yourself insane.
The world is a playground for all of us, at least it is supposed to be. It is so easy to get caught up in the travesties that present themselves around our world on a daily basis. You have to get out there and make your own news, and then you will see the abundance of opportunities out there for you, especially if you live in America. Sure we have a dunce in the chair of power who, sadly, is the face of our country. Like John F. Kennedy said "ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country". Ask yourself what you can do for this world in the shape it is in now.
Don't you think Mother Nature wishes she could get a break from all of us slowly destroying her precious gifts? She does not quit on us. So why quit on yourself if you are still living?
