Photo Credits: Madsen Thomas As time draws closer, and closer to my graduation date. Some changes had to be made in the structure of my professional portfolio. I have been blessed with so many opportunities during this month trip to South Korea, and it made me realize that when it comes to professionalism you have to separate business from personal. A Man and His Blog is more of my personal online journal, to share some of my stories/life experiences with my audience in hopes to inspire others to do the same. You never know who may be going through a similar obstacle, or what your words may do for another person. While the blog will live on through this platform, I have decided to move my photography portfolio that I will share with employers/future clients to a new platform for the reason stated earlier.
I have so many stories I would like to share with all, but I am trying to hold my water until I have time to fully go into detail. In the mean time if you wanted to check out my new portfolio, I will leave a link below. Along with the link to a playlist that holds the Buzzin' In South Korea series I created for Shenandoah University's Office of Marketing and Communications, and a commercial I shot that aired on local TV stations in the Northern Virginia region. I am forever grateful for these experiences, and opportunities I have been blessed to gain, and am humbled to be able to share them with you all. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My new portfolio - legaltrapmack.myportfolio.com/ Buzzin' In South Korea Playlist - www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxTP-0qdX1NY-wleqv8rIyY2GIsKAu03R Shenandoah At the Olympics Commercial- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tjg3HJ6_-A

Just a couple months ago I was returning home from Winchester, England, which marked my first ever trip outside of the United States. Coming back home left me with the domestic blues. Yeah, I missed my Mama and my friends, but the travel bug had me feeling some type of way. It made me realize how big this world is, and how much knowledge is out there to gain just from experiencing life. My fear of being home was getting stuck in a environment where people say they want to spread their wings, but have a fear of leaving the nest. And since I just earned mine, I am trying to stretch them so they won't get stiff. You smell what I am cooking?
Almost a year ago Shenandoah University sent out a mass email to the arts and science students about a possible volunteer opportunity in South Korea for the 2018 Winter Olympics. As soon as I saw South Korea and Winter Olympics, I was on it. I attended the information session, and submitted my application "quicktime" ,as my man Nathan in Winchester would say. My thought process was be in America the least amount of time possible for my last year of school. So when I do graduate, I can show potential employers that I have experience traveling abroad, and I could also have connections outside of the US once I get my business underway. A few weeks later, I got a notification letting me know I was one of 28 students picked to take the trip to South Korea. I was hype, lit, crunk, ecstatic, and greatly appreciative. A month after coming back from Europe, I am in a completely different cultural hemisphere of the world. Where I will not only be volunteering for the worlds largest winter sporting event, but acting as the public relations liaison for Shenandoah University. Gaining field experience in my niche, while gaining new work experience at the same time. I am truly blessed, and beyond thankful for this opportunity. A few years ago you wouldn't be able to convince me I could experience something of this magnitude. Now I am proving my past self wrong. My hopes are to inspire other people, especially people of color to spread there wings too, and to open there eyes to new experiences. I truly believe that is the only way to grow in this life. If you sit around your whole life being stuck in your ways, not being open minded to new experiences and ideas, than you are wasting your time here. I would like to thank the love of my life, my mother: for help making experiences like these possible. As well as Shenandoah University, and those of you who continue to support my endeavors. I am on the climb to the top, and I hope to meet those of you on the climb there as well. I will update my blog as frequently as time allows me, so I can share some of this experience with you all. When it comes to releasing my media, I am working on separating my portfolio, from my blog site. So when my portfolio is up and running, I will make a post about it for those of you who would like to see some of the footage I capture during this experience. Shenandoah University also has a web page dedicated to this trip, and if you are on Instagram you can follow the hashtag #SUOlympicsGEL to see some of the moments the rest of the SU Olympics gang are capturing.
