I am so sorry for the wait. I have been having fun here, I may not come back. Just kidding, I got to see my Mama. I Love you Mama!
We landed in London 10:30 A.M (+5 hour time difference) European time, and then travelled to Maidenhead, U.K with Madsen's friend from camp (Libby you are the bees knees, thank you and your family for the hospitality), which is 20 minutes away from Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle shopping district is POPPING! You can physically see the history of the city as you walk through it. It has rained quite often since being here, but it is the misty rain. It is like Mother Nature is sneezing on you. Tea time is not a designated time during the day, but they do drink quite a lot of tea here: with milk. Yes milk. And it is BANGING! (I had almond milk of course)
We travelled to Winchester the next day where we checked into our flats (not dorms) and met some of the incoming freshers (not freshmen). The University of Winchester is BEAAAAAUTIFUL. The people who run Winchester, Va (sister city of Winchester, U.K) need to take a flight out here and learn a thing or two from the OG's. I did not see many people of African decent since i have been here (which put me on edge a little as a African-American) but I forgot school does not start until next Monday. Did I mention that it rains quite often here? The legal drinking age is 18 around here, so alcohol is plentiful, but I am more of a herbal guy. Classes do not start for another week, so during this buffer period us freshers will participating in various activities (quite a few involving drinking) to become a little more acquainted with each other, and the university.
Today we will be venturing out into Winchester city to get familiar with the areas surrounding the campus, and get some exercise since the area we are at is quite hilly and wet. Did I mention rain already?
This is the conclusion on today's chapter of a weekend in the Europe. Tune in next Sunday around this time to see where we will be venturing next.
Time flies is not a cliche: it is a fact. Today is the day I have been waiting for since October of 2016. The day that will not only change my life, but those who confide in me. The day my horizon expands beyond my own personal limitations.
At 10:00 P.M tonight a Iberia Airlines plane will be flying out of Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C, and at 10:30 A.M I will be flying into Lord Heathrow airport in London, U.K. Guess who will be on that plane?
I will be in Winchester, U.K attending the University of Winchester's film school as part of a study abroad program I got accepted into. When it comes to expectations I only have two; soak in as much knowledge as possible, and leave a impact on whoever/wherever my travels take me while in Europe. This will be my first trip out of the country, and it does not feel like it is about it happen.
During this trip, I will be working on my second short documentary film titled 'Outlook'. My hopes for the film is to encourage others to expand their horizon by traveling, through the experience I share during my stay in Europe. It will compare and contrast educational, contemporary, and culture difference between the USA and the many places I will travel while in Europe.
As far as the One of Infinity Blog, it will be updated once a week with highlights from the weekly adventures. The Photo of the Day section will be updated the most frequent. I want to keep you guys on edge for the release of the film, so I will not be posting as much detailed content as usual.
When it comes to getting in contact with me, you can reach me via text message, email, FaceTime, Facebook, Skype, or via Whats App if you would like to have a phone conversation. I still can not believe this day is here, and I can not wait to take you all ok this adventure with me. Keep me in your prayers, and I will do the same.
