Thank you to the Buckingham County Chamber of Commerce judges, and the city of Buckingham for helping me achievce this landmark. This is the first photography contest award, and it has me hungry to enter more. Shout out to my Buckingham, Va family, especially Mema for opening up the opportunity for me to take in the place they call home through my own eyes.
Welcome to the Legal Trap Mack Solar Eclipse Viewing Party: where you do not have to worry about buying a pair of glasses because a major corporation told you to, just to feed their selfish financial greed. There are options at this party. You can relive, or see for the first time: the Solar Eclipse experience, from little ole' Winchester, Virginia. I set the slideshow up to show the audience my perspective of the Solar Eclipse in it's original state, with the Old Skool filter, and with the Trap Mack Filter.
They say high school is the fastest four years of your life. They lied. Most of us in the class of 2018 have one question for Father Time; where the hell did you go?
It feels like just yesterday we left our hometowns a week before school started to meet some of the people who would be there to witness our growth during this stressful, fun, emotional, humbling, and what sometimes felt like never ending, four year adventure in college. Now here we are, getting ready to wipe the crust out of our eyes, and complain how we don't want to go to our first class already. Some of us might 'accidentally' sleep in too.
Like it or not, it is here. You can't run from it, even if you tried. Hopefully the past three years acted as learning experiences to help mold you into the person you are today, so you can teach the younger people who may be starting their first, first day of college today. Senior year is a time to reflect on the lessons learned, and apply them to your final venture down the two-semester maze.
It is not about how you start; it is about if you earned enough credits to walk across the graduation stage, right into paying your student loan debt off. Get your mind, resume, and finances prepared for life after school for those of us who said "I am not doing another year of college even if they paid me" or get those graduate school applications in as soon as possible for those looking to further their education. Whatever you may do, be prepared because it is coming whether we like it or not.
Help anyone in need, especially yourself, and stay persistent even when you feel like giving up. Good luck to everyone who started their semesters today, whether it’s your first or last. Let's make this year count, and make accomplishments that will last past the day you walk across the stage.
The Old Skool black and white filter was inspirered by many of the great street photography photos I have seen since getting into photography. I noticed most of the more popular photos had a black and white filter on them that set the setting, tone, and mood of the photograph. Mimicking the elegance of what I like to call "old school street photography" is how the 'Old Skool' filter was created. I wanted to create a black and white filter that matched the vibrancy, and clarity of my colored filters. This filter is available for purchase for anyone who uses Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Once purchased you will have the filter and its base settings, which can be manipulated with in the app to adjust to the settings of your photos. I also have a color filter called 'Trap Mack' that I have been using on all of my recent photos, which is available for purchase also.
